About the artist
Donna M. Schwarz
I grew up in Connecticut, lived in Florida for a while and moved to Ohio in 1999 when I married.
I am an artist because I knew, at the age of seven, what I loved and what I wanted to be. My life is about creating with either fabric, pottery, glass, beads, colored pencils, oils, acrylics, pastels, water color or ink. I am a huge fan of colored pencils because of the ease of transporting this media. When in an adventurous mood any media will do, though my favorite media are oils, colored pencil and fabric.
My joy at being around other artists has led me to join art guilds in my area where I can participate in, learn from and encouraging others with my joy of art.
“The Brush and Palette Guild” in Hillsboro, Ohio, from 2002
The Colored Pencil Society of America “CPSA “ , from 2009
I am a signature member of the “CPSA”
President of CPSA district chapter 119, Greater Cincinnati, Ohio, from 2015 thru 2018
With much joy, I thank God for blessing me with the gift of art. I am a self-taught artist and will always work on honing my skills while continuing my education for insight and techniques. There are many artists who influenced my work not only the old masters but many of this age.
I work to express the beauty I see around me in nature, people, pets and architecture. I hope to convey that beauty as I strive to capture life and nature with Gods light.
